Jeanie Oates, Attorney
Jeanie Oates is our Project Manager. She grew up in Oklahoma and was a first-generation college student. After attending high school in Guthrie Public Schools, Jeanie attended the University of Central Oklahoma where she received her bachelors degree in accounting. Within a few years of graduating from college, Jeanie became the Controller for U.S. Foodservice in Oklahoma. Continuing to develop her career, she moved to California to take a role with Dole Fresh Vegetables in Salinas. When the chance to take on a new challenge presented itself, Jeanie took a position with Southcorp Wines North America. Southcorp was Australia’s largest vineyard holder and she became their Financial Controller for the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean. After having her daughter Rose, she knew that it was time to go to law school and fulfill her long-term dream to become an attorney. She returned to Oklahoma and went to the University of Oklahoma School of Law as a Comfort Scholar.
After graduation from school and passing the bar, Jeanie accepted a position with Anderson McCoy and Orta (a boutique firm located in Oklahoma City that specializes in servicing large commercial loans that are securitized). This is where her love for real estate law took root. She learned quite a bit about surface title, zoning, and mineral title.
Mark and Jeanie met in 2003 and married in 2004. In July 2007, their daughter Jacqueline was born and in 2009, Alexandria completed their family. During this time, Jeanie decided to focus on being a mother full time and became a caregiver for Jacqueline when she suffered from some severe health problems. In 2016 Jacqueline was miraculously cured, and Jeanie was able to restart her career.
She worked for Mark Price, Esq. and learned about estate planning. In 2018 Jeanie started her own firm, Oklahoma Legacy Law. Mark and Jeanie collaborated often in helping her clients with their mineral assets. Although Jeanie very much enjoyed working with people to plan their legacies; when Mark offered the chance to combine our expertise and work together it made perfect sense.

About Energy Land Group’s Role in Sustainability

As the energy sector evolves, We are at the forefront of the evolving energy landscape, assisting clients in pursuing renewable energy initiatives like wind, solar, hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol. These efforts include acquiring land for innovative energy storage projects, a crucial component in bringing renewable products to market.
Our clients leverage electricity and water to produce green hydrogen, which is used to convert CO2 into methanol. Additionally, technologies like Acid Gas Injection (AGI) wells compress and inject acid gas into underground formations, reducing emissions while enhancing oil recovery. These efforts are complemented by carbon capture and sequestration processes, which remove CO2 from emissions streams and store it underground, mitigating environmental impact.
The landman role remains a dynamic catalyst for moving projects to completion, whether for traditional oil and gas ventures or cutting-edge renewable energy projects. Energy Land Group embraces the challenges of this new era, offering the expertise and adaptability needed to navigate the complexities of sustainability.

what our clients say
I have had the pleasure of working with Mark for several years. Mark is a straight shooter who you can trust not to over promise and under deliver. He has the benefit of working both for premier operators as well as working in the field, so he understands what matters and what does not. He treats his clients’ money like it is his own which is an invaluable trait to have in this business. If you are new to Oklahoma, I highly recommend you talk to Mark to trouble shoot the states regulatory framework. He is not just a service provider; he will become a partner in your enterprise.
